Foundation’s Spring 2013 Grant Recipients

The Foundation is excited to announce that in May we proudly gave $16,000 in grants to support Kirtland College.  Below are the initiatives that the Foundation will help support in the upcoming year…

Kirtland Youth Theatre Drawing

Kirtland’s Early Childhood Learning Center to assist a student with their childcare costs, making it easier for them to attend class.

Service Learning for a “Break Away’s Alternative Breaks Citizenship” initiative to help develop leaders to bring back to Kirtland’s campus.

The Kirtland Youth Theatre to continue to bring art and culture to the youth of Kirtland’s service district and beyond.   The youngsters respond greatly to the Youth Theatre program and especially to the live performances.

Kirtland’s Nursing Program by helping fund a skills day.  The day is filled with many skills that will be necessary for nursing students such as:  study skills, time management, stress management and critical thinking.  We want Kirtland’s nurses to have the best chances possible to succeed.

Transitional Studies Department to assist in the retention of transitional studies students by including them in learning cohorts.  We want ALL students to succeed and the cohorts will allow them any extra attention they may require.
