MiFair ACHIEVES program in Oscoda County

The Foundation is excited to announce that in November 2013 we proudly gave $16,750 in grants to support Kirtland College and its communities.  Below are the initiatives that the Foundation will help support in the upcoming year… Kirtland Library & Math Department 5 new graphing calculators for the Math Department.  $450 Kirtland's Transitional Studies & Math Department National Association of Developmental Educators Conference.  $700 Kirtland Service Learning Break Away's Alternative Break's Citizenship.  $600 Kirtland Public Safety Kirtland Shooting Range improvements.  $1,500 Kirtland Health Sciences  Sterile IV Compounding training.  $3,000 Kirtland Facilities & Wellness Committee KCC community garden. … [Read more...]

Kirtland’s Annual Retiree Luncheon

September 4, 2013 was a great day to hold the Annual Retirees Luncheon.  The light sprinkles didn't stop some of Kirtland's finest retirees from joining the picnic lunch under the tent.  The luncheon is always the perfect time for past employees to catch up with each other, many only see their fellow retirees once a year on this day.  The guests enjoyed a great meal and headed to the library to browse through some pictures from the past and helped to identify many faces for the endless photo albums.  See you all next year, same place... same time!   … [Read more...]

21 Students Awarded for Fall Scholarships

The beginning of a new school year means the scholarship committee comes out of hibernation to award the fall scholarship winners.  This round of scholarships, 21 students received an award from the Foundation for a total of $16,850;  15 of the scholarships received were a General Scholarship.  Congratulations to the following scholarship winners... we are proud of you! Foundation’s Softball Fundraiser a Success

The Foundation hosted an exciting co-ed softball tournament August 30th- 31st.  The games took place at the Rose City and Lupton fields and the weather was perfect for ball.  8 teams competed over a day and a half for the title of "Champion" and Sullivan's Exteriors came out on top without a loss.  The concessions stand was hoppin' and combined with the entrance fee and home run derby fee, the Foundation was able to bring in $1500 that will go towards General Scholarships for Kirtland students. Grayling FOP start a new Foundation Scholarship

FOP AuSable Lodge #189 Scholarship

Grayling's Fraternal Order of Police recently presented the Kirtland Foundation with a $500 check to help continue the education of a promising 2nd year criminal justice student.  Officer Tim Coe recently said "the donation was prompted by a simple excess of funds and a sense of responsibility to the community.  The scholarship is an excellent demonstration of the 'people helping people' mantra that has always guided the Fraternal Order of Police in Grayling and across the country."
